Mindless Juices

Yeah, so this is a lttle late, but I’ve been busy.  Seriously, I’m the lead on this commitee at work and those additional responsibilities have really raised the workload.

Also, I’m finally finishing some prjects at the house.  The flooring is completely done.  Some of you have even seen it already.  It was a few nights of work.  No daylight @ approx. 6pm only gave me about 1 hour every night since I had to borrow neighbor Steve’s power tools for a decent chunk of the work.  We also bought two desks to move the office to the downstairs room.  This means we can turn up the volume on the speakers and talk to on the speakerphone and not bother Sabrina in the late evening hours.

Unfortunately, when you build a desk onto the wall, and that wall is painted, and you remove the desk, the paint, and some of the wall, sometimes comes off, too.  So, I have to spackle and paint the office.  And, we’re not sure if we want to install the desk in the downstairs room now.  All in all, the move is going smoother than I thought, but not as smooth as I could have hoped.

We cleaned out the garage.  We threw out a ton of stuff and did some general spring cleaning type stuff.  All of which just sort of happened.  It’s a part of the effort to rid ourselves of the boxes we’ve just been storing in one room or another.  You see, up until now, there’s basically always been one room in the house we weren’t using.  Now, that’s no longer the case… we’re about to use all of the rooms and actually have a real guest room.  So, these boxes have to reduce in size and fit in a closet or something.  It’s by far, the most daunting task of all the tasks still left to complete.

Lastly, to bring in the new year, we had a Casino Night at our house.  The turn out was much smaller than expected.  Lots of people went out of town this new year.  But, we still had a lot of fun.  The craps table was particularly popular.  Also, the Texas Hold ‘em game was, of course, always in session.  Both Sabrina and I were suprised that there weren’t more people on the roulette & blackjack table.  But, the food was amazing, our friends are amazing and the party was a lot of fun.  Hopefully, in coming years, if we have another casino night, we’ll have more people and more fun.
